About the Journal

Aims & Scope

Biophilia Insights is a national journal publishing the finest peer-reviewed research in all fields of science and technology, forest, wildlife, and environmental science, with their financial impacts based on its originality, importance, interdisciplinary interest, timeliness, accessibility, elegance, and surprising conclusions. Vanashakti NGO, Mumbai, Maharashtra started Biophilia Insights in January 2023. It provides rapid, authoritative, insightful, and arresting news and interpretation of topical and coming trends affecting science, scientists, and the wider public. Biophilia Insights publishes two issues (June and December) per year.

Biophilia Insight's mission statement

First, to serve scientists through prompt publication of significant advances in any branch of science, and to provide a forum for the reporting and discussion of news and issues concerning science. Second, to ensure that the results of science are rapidly disseminated to the public throughout the world, in a fashion that conveys their significance for knowledge, culture, and daily life.

Research from all fields of science and technology, forest, wildlife, and environmental science, with their financial impacts that do not fall into the mentioned categories, could also be considered.

The journal welcomes the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence. All articles published in "Biophilia Insights" will undergo double-blind peer review and will only be accepted after satisfactory revisions.

Types of papers:

Reviews: Brief summaries of current developments, based on published articles, and may address any area of science and technology, forest, wildlife, and environmental science, with their financial impacts. Review manuscripts will be peer-reviewed.

Research articles: Should describe new findings and experimental procedures in detail for others to verify the work. There is no limit on length, but a concise presentation is encouraged.

Short Communications: For concise but independent reports or giving details of new models or hypotheses, innovative methods, techniques, or apparatus. Short communications are less than 4 printed pages in length.

"Biophilia Insights" publishes high-quality articles in English. The review process will usually take approximately 30 days, and accepted papers are published online. The journal intends to develop into a world-class publication in the coming years. This journal is purely open-access. Authors can submit their manuscripts according to the author guidelines through the online submission system.

Plagiarism Policy 

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original. If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, they must be properly cited or quoted. All articles submitted to Biophilia Insights will be checked for plagiarism by Plagiarism checker. The manuscript will be rejected immediately if plagiarism is detected during the review/editorial process. If plagiarism is proven after publication, the manuscript will be retracted from the journal, and a needful action will be taken.

Article Corrections Policy

Authors are encouraged to report any errors in their articles that affect the accuracy of the published information. Only significant errors will be considered for correction. The decision to make corrections is at the discretion of the journal. The process for corrections depends on the publication stage of the article. Any corrections will be published as corrections and addenda in a later issue of the journal.

Article Retraction Policy

An article may be retracted due to scientific misconduct, which includes issues such as multiple submissions, false claims of authorship, plagiarism, or fraudulent use of data. Before an article can be retracted, a signed statement from all concerned authors must be submitted. Agreement from all authors of a paper is necessary before a retraction can be published.

A notice of retraction will be published and linked to the original article, clearly marked as retracted. This notice will include the reason for the retraction and identify who is retracting the article. The original article will remain accessible in the journal, but it will be clearly marked as retracted. Additionally, retractions will be listed on the contents page.

Article Withdrawal Policy

Authors may only withdraw their articles for compelling and unavoidable reasons. To initiate a withdrawal, a letter signed by all authors must be submitted to the editorial office, clearly stating the reason for the withdrawal. Authors should not assume that their article has been withdrawn until they receive formal notification from the editorial office.

Peer-review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to Biophilia Insights will undergo a double-blinded peer review process, which ensures fair and unbiased reviews and opinions on the papers. Editor(s) will initially evaluate all the manuscripts. Manuscripts rejected at this stage may be on account of the fact that it lacks originality, have serious scientific flaws, poor grammar or English language, or fall outside the journal's scope. Manuscripts will be forwarded to at least two experts for further review. The feedback of all reviewers will be considered in the decision-making process, but the final responsibility for acceptance or rejection lies with the Editor-In-Chief(EIC). The EIC may also consult with editorial board members before making the final decision. The Chief Executive Editor and Executive Editors provide support to EIC for maintaining the integrity of the peer review process. Authors are welcome to suggest potential peer reviewers based on their expertise in the subject area. The suggested reviewers should not be affiliated with the authors' institute or past affiliations. If the authors challenge the editor's decision, the manuscript may be sent to an additional reviewer, and the final decision will be made based on their recommendations.

The journal follows the CC BY copyright license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) enables redistribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for non-commercial use. 

Article Processing Charges

Biophilia Insights is an open-access Journal that does not yet charge fees for submission, publication, or any publishing process. The journal's whole publishing process is supported by technical support and financial grants from Vanashakti NGO, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
